As morning woke the moment,
I knew the die was cast,
yesterday could live no more;
and hope now called on trust.
It was a feeble calling,
and yet it held me close.
This weekend we're asking for 33 words about a new beginning.

Wow,loved the lines,"yesterday could live no more;
ReplyDeleteand hope now called on trust."Wonderful piece!:-)
It sounds like something was done that can't be taken back...? I hope this doesn't lead to a bad new beginning...
ReplyDeleteEverything is a lesson. There is no good or bad - just the experience.
DeleteLove this. Each day begins brand new...
ReplyDeleteI agree with Draug - it feels like something bad happened (from the die being cast, and the feeble call to hope.) I'm a little nervous about what kind of beginning could come of this...
ReplyDeleteMy mind wandered on this one to a past love, in the beginning, hoping that after we parted in the morning, he would call. Said so well.
ReplyDeleteLove the opening line "as morning woke the moment." It seems that a new day can always be so tremulous. Sad and lovely.

I also felt something bad happened. Say it isn't so!
ReplyDeleteNo, nothing bad has happened in recent times.... it is a remembering of times past.
DeleteI also get the sense that something bad is in the wind...
