You told me I was radical

You told me I was radical
and surely out of place,
because I was too different;
and bent on drastic change.
And yet the course was simple;
at least it was to me,
for all I ever wanted,
was to see my heart revealed.
The policies I put in place,
were not political,
in any sense traditional;
but met my Soul's true need.
Your words dissected  who I was,
sure stripped my Self apart,
but independence held my hand,
and led me out at last.
I dipped my toes in dross and dregs,
of who you thought I was,
and found in silken yearnings,
life's deep, abiding purpose.
I broke the laws and habits,
of what the world held dear,
and in the shattered moments,
at last, brought truth to bear.

RADICAL (adjective)

  1. Inspirational; bringing truth to bear in the fact of all those habits and institution is so hard to do! Nicely done.
