I found your absence wanting

I found your absence wanting,
the lack of time you spent,
in sharing who I was;
in being resonant.
It wasn't that you left,
in a material sense,
but an emotional distance;
which left my soul bereft.
There was a lack of detail,
in how you treated me,
as if I were a shadow;
not someone fully real.
It had not always been this way,
nor had I felt you part,
but it did not bring fondness;
instead it broke my heart.
