Cystus

 Tender petalled cystus,
 fragile glowing pink,
sighs on stems so certain;
silently she sings.

When the day is drawn,
quietly you close,
settling glorious spread;
drawn for night's repose.

  4. What a great little ballad.. The simplicity combined with a metaphorical layer makes me think of Robert Blake. Very good.

  8. I love the flowers that curl up at night, as we do, for warmth. Lovely gentleness to the poem.
