There were days
when I laughed
and the sun shone.
When delight licked
shining lips
shining lips
and joy danced
lightly on the
lightly on the
horizon.
In goblin dreams
that whisper now,
there were days
when I laughed
and the sun shone.
Flickered sunbeams
dancing low,
tease diaphanous
hope,
leaf-shined and
dew-moist,
clinging brightly
to the moment
and then gone.
The sun born
in joyful breath,
spreading
warm wings
across my heart,
promising
that those days
were real
and will be again.
