I did bestow upon connecting shreds,
a deepening trust that you would soon return,
that light would shine in corners dark and and ill-defined,
where love had shrunk in small silences,
and relationship could no longer hold sure ground;
but hope is not enough to so rebuild,
when argument is weak and hate revealed.

Heart-wrenching but beautiful! Love the imagery.
ReplyDeleteThis one makes me feel ragged and raw. You've tapped directly into the heart of dying hope and love lost--something that I'm sure is bitterly familiar to most of us.

ReplyDeleteWell expressed.
