Sorry is such a small word,
cramped sometimes,
but powerful all the same;
five letters expressing regret.
There are things we do and say,
which we may not mean,
or have not expected to cause pain;
then sorry speaks.
When we act with less integrity,
or less kindness than we might,
with thoughtlessness perhaps;
gestures mean a lot.
For few of us mean to hurt,
or make others suffer,
