Annoyed the voice of reason,
hushed the words of soul,
pain the heart engenders
when love does dissolve.
Angry is the wounded ego,
calm the mind of grace,
suffering is the waiting Self;
when there is no place.
Assaulted are the senses,
quiet the inner dreams,
distressed all hidden hopes;
acceptance now bequeathed.

Acceptance certainly is the last to arrive when love dissolves. Foolish hope does linger on!
ReplyDeleteThere is a so much loss and yet in acceptance can come power...control...or giving up? I am never sure...but this is a beautiful poem
