Love

It was ten years after her husband's death that she went into care and with so few mirrors and so little privacy, she began to forget everything, but how she felt inside. Or did she begin to forget when Michael, the gentle, dark-eyed nurse came to work on the ward and days began and ended with an unexpected joy, at the touch of his hands? Within a short time she found it harder to remember her husband and thrilling to think that she had found love yet again; as hidden, protected and secret as it might be.

The challenge is to write a complete story in only three sentences.

    1. It is based on a true story. It is about old age, severe disability requiring care, and the ability or need for people to imagine love or to project love onto others.

  4. I love the hope of this secret love. It brightens the setting of the psych ward.

    Thank you for linking up!

    1. It is a true story. It wasn't a psych ward but a special care facility for the disabled.

  7. I was told by my best friend's father that "love is geographical". I think this story supports that hypothesis.
