Forty

Forty, the age when time

leaves youth behind,

so progress can be made

and Soul take hold of

Self, moving toward union,

where more years stand behind

than  do ahead, and wisdom

cautions patience and

acceptance, now

required, not optional.

  1. Yes there's that time.. often you don't even realize that you have changed though until you turn 50 or 60... hopefully.

  2. Acceptance may be required, but I still find it hard to accept that I'm more than 40. Great poem!

  8. It takes a bundle to appreciate age runs faster than thoughts when reaching 40! Ah well! Nicely Roslyn!

  9. It is always a shock to realize my age. I don't feel old inside.
