Hope

The world stirs, breathes
and moves in its own way,
in measured moments of
unexpected being and

becoming, where fear
and hope walk side by
side, and sometimes
share a smile of new

understanding; for they
were forged in the same
fire, and honed by the
same hammer, beaten

through the molten
days, until they took
shape and form in
this strange, beautiful

and mysterious cosmos;
where life dances to
its own unique tune-
perfect in its own way,

despite the tangled
flaws, of brokenness,
and its fraying dreams,
and bright, worn edges.

  1. I love the metaphor of fear and hope being forged in the same fire, Roslyn, and honed by the same hammer! The final stanzas are beautiful.

  2. This is lovely imagery. I imagine the world shedding quite a lot as it spins, only keeping what will accept its common origins.

  4. Wow, this is wonderful as you personify fear and hope and how true it is that they really do walk side by side. Lovely imagery throughout.

  5. I do love all the beauty you manage to weave despite the fault and flaws (or maybe just because)
