Positioned neatly on your
simple shelf of reality, so
do I sit, dangling over
the edge of that wooden
mind, beakening you to
return and enfold me in
your arms, wrap tight
the empty naked space
I have become; before
the tears fold through
shuttered eyes and fall
down into that other
world, where my weeping
will go unheard, in this
drop from great heights,
to unfeeling oblivion.

wonderful- thank you for participating!
ReplyDeleteI love the thought of that spirit perched on a shelf... I feel that it's just for a while before it will drop and ending it all.
ReplyDeleteThis line is so well-written: "before

Nice description: "unfeeling oblivion"
ReplyDeleteI love the opening lines of positioning on the shelf of reality.
ReplyDeleteThere is a dose of deep sadness towards the end.
Wow! You made a serious poem from a rather strange sculpture.
