What was, is no more,
and yet it holds to
memory and mind,
struggling against the
closing shades, as if
determined to remain
intact, even as the
material evidence is
removed. Do all things
remain forever in their
energetic state? Eternal,
unable to be touched by
the purely physical, for
once created, they can
never be destroyed-
only transformed?

Lovely. True.
ReplyDeleteOh you do make the enjambment so well... just wish it was in a sonnet as the prompt said.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am in the process of moving house and up to my eyeballs in packing and completely missed the sonnet bit. I did post on the thread saying ignore my contribution as I had it wrong.
DeleteNice reference to "memory and mind" and the weaving of transformation.
ReplyDeleteI missed the advice to ignore your contribution, and glad I did. I enjoyed reading your non-sonnet.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks. Yes, in the middle of moving and was not concentrating.
