Fear

Fear does roam in circle,
granite hard in veins,
calls the ghost of reason,
names the nightmares

reared, on the weight
of sorrows, howl of
deepest grief, packs
the flesh of madness

wrapped in sore relief.
Holding to the table,
empty dreams of hope,
reason drinks in silence,

draughts of time remote.

  2. I do agree.. fear can do that.. though I do not think we can avoid fear, we have to battle fear.

    1. I don't see why it has to be a battle. Why not befriend and embrace Fear and work with fear. I don't relate to the 'war' approach so common on so many counts today.

  3. Such a strong image of fear as a piece of granite hard in our veins.. it certainly does make its way around.. Beautifully executed.

  7. I dislike fear as an emotion. May reason always keep it at bay. Nice work capturing the struggle.
