Time travel

Within our minds we construct time,

to make the world we know, a little

better managed, with limits we can

show, which will within the stretch

of years, make sense of moments

small, and let us count the living

hours in ways we think we chose.

We are surrounded by ghosts

We are surrounded by ghosts,

tangled in the days, the web

of weeks, which weave in

months and years; those ghosts

of the dead, once loved, once

dreamt, once hoped, once for

a moment thought, felt, held

in a bright possibility, which

failed to endure; and yet they

roam the edges of dark day

and shining night, always. We

are surrounded by ghosts....

So sings the distant heart

Within the centred self, We speak, in silence and

With words which others May not hear, while in the

World at large,

only mouths
Are we,

spreading forth
Imaginings, and hopes.

Who Sings the distant heart which

Safely exists in the centre of All things?

It is our Soul who Sings  the deepest silence,

Without words, which others Gently hear,

even though they Know it not but feel it always,

As the heart knows no distance, And no concept

of time, space Or other, instead, circling in

Deep silence, the truth of all We are,

and offering in bright Whispers, the hope

of all we Might be, drawn together, Or

singled out through each Moment that we

call our own And yet which belongs not to

Us, but emerges from us, in Shining, brittle

 imaginings Of our material being.

So Sings the distant heart.

Discordant

The mind displays discordant,

the monkey plays the tune,

in clamouring confusion,

it staggers round the room.

With nimble-fingered focus

it shuffles all the thoughts,

spits gently on the territory,

through teeth of evil force.

Faith

  Faith sighed,

and in that

whisper, drew

sodden drapes

aside.

Shedding

Peeling through to pure flesh,

the old gum sighs in strips,

scattering its skin, shedding

through its past. So the

season drops its scales,

rippled bark slow breaks,

spreading broken promises

on soil which ever waits.

Welcome grief

Welcome grief, stay awhile.

Let me wipe the dust from

your shoes and the tears

from your salted cheeks.
